Trade and offices
south of Kurt-Eisner-Straße
The railroad depot, which closed in 1952, and freight traffic shaped the urban area south of the Bayerischer Bahnhof for decades. Until its closure in 2001, several signal boxes and extensive track systems were located here on which freight and passenger trains were assembled. The complete dismantling of the old railroad facilities in the course of the commissioning of the City Tunnel created sufficient space for new uses and ideas. With excellent transport connections, this new district offers free development and design opportunities for business, institutions and science.
Sub-area 9
New address for innovative structures
The second section of the Kurt-Eisner-Straße development area (sub-area 9) is bordered to the west by the new planned road and to the east by the district park. With its location directly at the MDR S-Bahn station, this area benefits in particular from the excellent infrastructure.
This quarter offers excellent opportunities for the planned development of commercial and office space.
Sub-area 9a
MDR / Media City Leipzig
