Dösner Weg South
Bayerischer Bahnhof Leipzig
The depot, which got closed in 1952 and the freight transport shaped the urban area over the decades in the South of the Bayerischen Bahnhof. There were several signal boxes and extensive railway tracks on which travel and freight trains were assembled until the shutdown in the year 2001. The full dismantling of the old railway system in the course of the city tunnel construction paired with sustainable and ecological development offers enough room for new usage and ideas.
LEARNING AND LIVING
This area is in the middle of the district In the north of the Semmelweisstraße (subfield 7a). It directly bounds by the S-Bahn Stop MDR at the Bahnstrasse in the West and Dösner Weg in the East.
The urban development contract also considers the construction of a spacious school campus, including five-tract secondary school and gymnasium.
The transition from the development patterns of the quarter and the existing residential complex (18. Oktober / Messemagistrale) has a significant focus in this quarter.
Status: The usage and the design are currently debated. We will inform you as soon as we have a planning status.
