Lots of green areas, space for humans an nature
The district park in the South of the portico
The depot, which got closed in 1952 and the freight transport shaped the urban area over the decades in the South of the Bayerischen Bahnhof. There were several signal boxes and extensive railway tracks on which travel and freight trains were assembled until the shutdown in the year 2001. The full dismantling of the old railway system in 2005 offers in the course of a sustainable and ecological development enough room for a public park, which spreads out from north to South throughout the entire urban area.
THE DISTRICT PARK
Recreation area, Walking and cycling paths network, urban-ecological quality
With the northern part of the district park, the green area starts here, which connects all parts of the development area. The creation of a district park, which is equally valuable for humans and nature, is a joint task. This area will offer a high urban ecological quality through its development of a connected trail network. The implantation will be happening in sections and is coordinated with the single construction projects.
The planned execution of the district park
